Athlete Membership
100% of the athletes appearing in a USA Gymnastics Sanctioned Event must be pre-registered athlete members of USA Gymnastics and must be able to produce or have their coach supply a current valid registration number
assigned by the USA Gymnastics Member Services department.
A.    Athlete Membership is effective ONCE a USA Gymnastics Athlete Member has been assigned to the competitive athlete.
B.    Athlete Numbers are assigned ONLY after:
bulletProper payment of per athlete is received. Athlete members may also register in the Group Gymnastics, Rhythmic, Sports Acrobatics, or Tumbling/Trampoline category for no additional cost. The athlete must contact the USA Gymnastics Membership Services to do so 1-800-345-4719
bulletThe Athlete Member Application form is received fully completed with all required information and signatures. The Member Application may also be completed and submitted online at
www.usa-gymnastics.org A $5.00 administrative fee is discounted when registering online.
bulletMemberships are nonrefundable and nontransferable  
bulletRegistration forms for first-time Level 5 athletes no longer require Skill Evaluator or PDP-II coach's signature.
bulletAthlete Membership is valid for one competitive year, August 1 through the following July 31. Members joining at any time during the year will receive benefits for the remainder of the competitive year. All athlete memberships are automatically null and void each July 31.

C. Foreign Athletes, coaches and/or judges for countries other than the United States who wish to participate in USA Gymnastics Sanctioned Events must be registered members.

bulletUSA Gymnastics Member Services provides a discounted, insurance only membership strictly for foreigners competing in USA meets at the rate of $25.00
bulletForeign Memberships do not receive benefits of membership other than the required insurance coverage.

Introductory Athlete Membership
A.   
Introductory Athlete Membership is available for Level 1, 2, 3 and PREP Optional competitors only.
B.    The registration fee of $15.00 is applicable for online processing and payment only.
There is a $5.00 additional fee for in-house processing of mailed or faxed forms. For in-house processing, the club must provide an email address to which the membership cards will be sent. A 3-4 week processing applies for all in-house requests.
C.    The Athlete Membership card is available for printing from the web site when online registration takes place.
D.    Introductory Athlete Memberships may be upgraded to full Athlete Member (Level 4 and above) within the same competitive year by completing a regular Athlete Member registration form and paying the additional $35.00. Upgrades are processed by mail or fax only.

USAG Professional Membership
Required for participation as an Official, Coach, Judge, Meet Director or any other professional capacity during any USA Gymnastics sanctioned event.

bulletProfessional Membership is open to any coach, judge or gymnastics professional who is a minimum of 18 years of age. Safety Certification is required for Professional Membership. 

Junior Professional Membership is available for 16-17 year old coaches and judges. The annual fee is $62.00. Safety Certification is also required for Jr. Professional Membership. Once, the individual turns 18 years of age, he/she must apply for Professional Membership.

bulletUSA Gymnastics Professional Member must hold a Professional Membership for each and every discipline in which they are participating: Women, Men, Rhythmic, General Gymnastics,
Tumbling & Trampoline Programs. The annual fee for Professional Membership in one discipline is
$85.00. Each additional discipline added to the Professional Membership is $25.00 EACH.

bulletProfessional Memberships are payable either by check or credit card. Applications with credit card payment may be faxed to 317-345-4719. Obtain a form through the Forms Section at
www.usa-gymnastics.org/forms or call 1-800-345-4719 if you need the forms faxed to you.
bulletProfessional Membership is valid for one year from date of payment. Renewal notices are sent to each Professional Member 45 days in advance. If for any reason you do not receive a renewal notice, you may renew up to 3 months before your expiration date.
bulletProfessional Memberships are current and valid only after the applicant received confirmation from the USA Gymnastics Member Services Department or has a current number listed on the USA Gymnastics Web Site. A Professioinal Membership that has been applied for or is in the state of being processed is NOT VALID.  
bulletProfessional Members are REQUIRED to visibly display their Professional Membership card on their person when participating in USA Gymnastics sanctioned events. A confirmation paper from Member Services copied from the web site is valid until the Membership card is received. Membership cards will be sent to Professional Members in 4-6 weeks from the beginning of the processing. A social security number is required on all Professional Membership applications.
bulletUSA Gymnastics reserves the right to revoke or suspend memberships for violations of its conduct standards.

Professional Education Programs & Accreditations

bulletSafety Certification, is required to obtain Professional Membership. Re-certification is required every four years. Course schedules are listed in Technique magazine, on the USA Gymnastics website. NYS Safety Certification courses are listed on this website on the Update Page.
bulletProfessional Development Certification Program  
PDP I Accreditation Requirements
: rookie coaches guide exam, sequential gymnastics II exam, Level 1 Video Clinic and workbook. The cost is $25.00 and you must have all three components with payment to receive certification and certificate. 
bullet PDCP Level II requirements: Instructor or Professional Member (18 yrs. of age) or Jr. Professional Member (16-17 yrs. of age), safety certification, attendance at a PDCP Level 1-4 course. PDCP-II coaches will receive a Skill Evaluator Certificate.
bulletKinder Accreditation For Teachers (KAT Program), KAT-Accreditation are: must be a minimum of 16 years old, must attend KAT training workshop
bulletMovement Education Lesson Plan Development (MELPD), must be a minimum of 16 yrs. of age and must attend MELPD Workshop
bulletSkill Evaluator Certification, recommended for all Coaches/instructors working with athletes in Level 1-4. Must be a Professional, Junior Professional, or Instructor Member. Must be a minimum of 16 yrs. of age, exams are administered by the State Administrative Committee Chair or their representative. Anyone holding a PDP-II or PDCP Level 1-4 Coaches Certification automatically hold a Skill Evaluator certification. Cost $10.00
bulletMeet Director Certification for ALL sanctioned competitions is required and the Meet Director must be a Professional Member and therefore must be Safety Certified. The exam and answer sheet can be found on the USA Gymnastics web site: www.usa-gymnastics.org/forms . Send completed exam and fee to the National Office. Cost is $15.00. Emergency Processing $25.00
