New York State USAG Level 3
"Introduction To Competitive Gymnastics"  

Level 3 is a developmental level, this is the first year that the State of New York has recognized this level as a "competitive level". The State will sponsor the event but partner with a host club (downstate and upstate) in organizing a culminating competition for these gymnasts. It will be called New York State Competition Is Fun Event.

Level 3 gymnasts may participate in local and Invitational Competitions if the Meet Director provides this level of competition at their sanctioned meets. The Meet Directors will determine what type and how the achievement awards (or any other type of award) will be given.

Level 3 / Competition Is Fun Event: We may or may not have an Upstate and Downstate Event (currently we have a downstate site). This will be determined by the interested respective Clubs. The Level 3 / Competition Is Fun Event will be exactly that, a Fun Event with individual event awards ONLY. Gymnasts can participate in one to four competitive events. There is no Individual All-Around Awards nor Team Competition. This Event will take place in June. We will use one judge panels to keep the entry fees as low as possible. The entry fees will be determined by the host club and will be capped at $35.00. All entry fees and lineups are to be mailed to the host clubs. Checks are to be made out to the host club.
 
Requirements Level 3:
1. Only registered USAG Level 3 Athlete Member can participate in this event.
2. This Event can be the gymnasts one and only "competition".
3. The gymnast cannot have competed in Level 4 (or any other level) at any time during any season.

Procedures at the Competition Is Fun Event

• Coaches create their own team lineups and present their lineups to the officials at each event.
• Only Individual Event Awards will be given out for EACH session.
• Gymnasts can compete on one to four events (cap $10.00 per event)
• No Scores are flashed. Scores are posted in the concession area.
• No scores will be posted on the New York State Web Page

Age Divisions for Level 3 . Level 3 gymnasts must be 5 years old.
