College Bound Gymnastics School Information

Dear Gymnasts, Parents & Coaches,

Welcome to our second season of our "College Bound" information page. This special page has been created to help out New York State High School Junior and Senior Athletes nswer questions that they may have about College.
There is a
NCAA link at bottom of page.

The moderators of this page are two past New York State USAG Gymnasts:
Lori Franklin and Nancy Akers.

Lori received a full athletic and academic merit scholarship to The George Washington University and competed for their Women's NCAA Division I Gymnastics Team from 1992 - 1996.
She was the Team Captain and selected as the "Most Valuable Player" in 1996. After graduation, Lori became the Graduate Assistant Coach at The George Washington University while attending the business school on a full-scholarship.

Nancy
also received a full athletic scholarship to The George Washington University and competed for their gymnastics team from 1991-1995. She was the Team Captain and selected "Most Valuable Player" in 1995.
In April 1999, Nancy received her Masters in Public Health from The George Washington University and is now working as a Public Relations Administrator for Sigma-Tau Pharmaceuticals in Gaithersburg, Maryland!

Lori & Nancy created this page so they can help the young ladies from their home state answer any questions they may have about Colleges, Teams, Studies, etc.
You can e-mail your questions to Lori at:
lchaitman@motorola.com
 or Nancy at: nancylane04@gmail.com

With Lori's and Nancy's excitement and extensive knowledge of collegiate programs this page will be a great source for our State's Gymnasts preparing for College. It is their hope to create an Alumnae Listing of as many of our outstanding gymnasts who are now in the "real world" and making their presence felt. Lori and Nancy will be recruiting other alumnae to help those athletes preparing for college.

Stay tuned!
